During one of his business trips to Berlin, Philipp, an experienced cyclist and passionate connoisseur of handmade bicycle frames, visited our workshop. From the start, we connected over his vision for his new dream bike. Philipp was searching for a unique piece, and as we explored options together in our officina, the choice quickly became clear: the Futomaki Disc V2 - ICR. This frame design, built for responsive yet aggressive road performance, was the perfect foundation for his vision.
Philipp’s trust in our expertise gave us the creative freedom to design the bike collaboratively. Over time, through ongoing discussions and thoughtful feedback, we carefully selected each component to meet his exacting standards, from the paintjob to the groupset and down to the smallest details.
The result was a bike that truly reflected his passion and our shared commitment to excellence.
Meticulously assembled in-house by our trusted mechanic Hiroshi, the final build is a fully integrated design piece, equipped with the latest Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 for precise and high-performance shifting.
It features a Chris King Aeroset with internal cable routing and bottom bracket, complemented by premium ENVE components, including the ROUTE IN-ROUTE fork, the seamless SES AR IN-ROUTE one-piece handlebar and carbon seatpost. The build is completed with SES 4.5C carbon rims paired with artisanal Carbon-T hubs and wrapped in Pirelli P ZERO Race TLR tires, ensuring exceptional performance with a sleek aesthetic.
To achieve a clean and cohesive aesthetic, every detail was carefully considered. The “Ingrid Metallic Grigio Ferrari” frame color, paired with raw, uncoated bike sheaths, set the tone for the overall Edizione Corsa design.
Elements like the aluminum wheel spokes, freehubs, and the Chris King Aeroset were selected to harmonize with the silver palette, enhancing the elegance of the frame's paintwork.
We were both thrilled with the final result, and to celebrate the delivery of his brand new Futomaki, Philipp joined us for our final Roundabout ride of the year, heading to Libken in the Uckermark. After more than 100km on the road together, Philipp highlighted that the bike fit was perfect from the start, needing no further adjustments, and delivered a comfortable yet highly responsive ride.
After our ride, Philipp kindly entrusted us with his bike for the DT Swiss Craft Bike Days, an event designed to connect European frame builders and foster discussions about craftsmanship in dedicated workshops. We proudly showcased Philipp's new bike as a representation of our work and were honored to receive an award from Craft Bike Days and be featured in Rennrad-News.
Celebrating the success of this project and its stunning outcome, we warmly welcome Philipp to our community and look forward to many more rides together next year!
Enjoy the ride!
